  • Human Trafficking Awareness
Human Trafficking is the 2nd fastest growing crime in the United States and its effects are being felt in every community. According to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, over 100,000 kids under the age of 18 will be become victims this year in the U.S.  The California Attorney General tells us that a Trafficker can make as much as half a million dollars a year.  That much money is creating an incentive for Traffickers from all over the world to come to California and congregate in affluent communities like Orange County.   Pope Frances has expressed to Catholics that the trafficking of persons is a “crime against humanity and must be stopped.”  In order to stop it, we need to understand this issue, so we know what actions to take.   On the weekend of July 26th and 27th, Susan Durik, author of the book “How You Can Fight Human Trafficking” will be speaking after all the masses letting us know how to protect the most likely victim which are homeless teens and foster kids.
Please come to Doyle Hall, Wednesday, July 30 at 7:00 P.M. for a meeting for all those interested in finding out more regarding what one can do to fight human trafficking.  Included in the meeting is a section on how to protect our own children from becoming victims.  Given how clever the Traffickers are at tricking kids, it is important that every parent be there.  This meeting is for adults and teens 16 and older.
